After a group of activists gathered in the home of political prisoner Saied Matinpour to celebrate his birthday, three students who had participated in this gathering disappeared after leaving the gathering. On Tuesday, three student activists in Zanjan identified as Mehrdad Karami, an electrical engineering student at Tabriz University, Jamal Rezayi, a mechanical students at the Azarbaijan Teacher Training University and Khalil Gholami, a Free Abhar University student did not go back to their homes after Saied Matinpour’s birthday gathering. Notably, political and civil rights activists in this town have called for gatherings in protest to the death of Orumieh Lake and intent to gather in this town’s main square on September 22.
